My Angel’s trumpet flower almost year-round in Houston. I plant my angel’s trumpet next to my house and not directly in the sun. Texas heat might be too much for it during the blistering summer. If it get droopy just give it lots of water and it perks right up. The flowers open downward. So if you have a tall burgmansia it is really cool looking up at the flowers. Alert!!!!Angel’s trumpet are poisonous. The flowers are fragrant, especially in the evening.

What a scorcher this weekend turned out to be. On days like this, I cruised around my hood blasting the a/c and karoking to radio tunes.

Just my luck, there was bumper-to-bumper traffic on a local road. Being curious and adventurous, I followed the traffic and ended up at a muscle and classic cars rally. What a blessing in disguise, what I saw made me stopped, parked, and geared up.

Here is what I saw and clicked. Double and triple wowweeeeeee: GTO, Corvette Stingray, Shelby GT 350 convertible, Shelby GT 500. Who in there right mind would drive pass that line up? I am coming back to this street rods, muscle cars,  antiques, and classic cars rally  for sure, so many cars so low on memory cards…Haha.

This week my dragon fruit flowers bloomed. Each flower is Gi-normous, as you can see by the pictures. The dragon fruit’s flower only bloom at night, but I was able to catch some good images of it at late dusk.

Dragon fruit, hylocereus undatus, pitahaya, pitaya, strawberry pear, thanh long is a vining, terrestrial or epiphytic cactus, with fleshy stems that climb up any vertical surface. It grows very fast here in Houston. It is a hardy plant and can withstand Houston occasional freeze.

Hopefully, from these wonder flowers, I will get some dragon fruits in late summer. If you guy are curious about how good it taste, you can stop by any Asian supermarkets and pick some up. I think it averages around $2.99 – $3.99 per pound. You can’t miss it, just look for the pinkish magenta fruit.

Paraiso Maravilla is Houston’s premier location to host wedding ceremonies, receptions, business, and social functions. With courtyards full of blooming bougainvillea, hibiscus, and other greenery, Paraiso Maravilla truly presents itself as a “marvelous paradise,” which is the translation of the venues unique name. The indirect light and an abundance of candles transform this already beautiful facility into an overwhelmingly romantic atmosphere. “Once the gates close and the visitor is tucked inside, he or she is transported thousands of miles away to a Latin American and Mediterranean fantasy. All traces of Houston are gone. Every visual angle with the high walls is picture perfect – a romantic arched gateway in this direction, a splashing fountain surrounded by rich foliage straight ahead, a playful curving stairway in the other direction. “Here, a massive mantle. There, a vast expanse of Italian marble just right for dancing.”… brides feel as if they are attending their fairy-tale wedding. It’s hard to believe that such a place exists in Houston, TX. ”
