I was at the Aquarium couple of weeks ago, and I got some great shots of Houston’s skyline. The view of Houston’s skyline from the aquarium was s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r! The different contrasting colors from surrounding buildings were intense. Looking up at these man made wonders, it made me breathless. The weather was kinda damp and chilly. I recalled as a young girl, living near the Ozark Mountain, we had the most beautiful Autumn. Now that I am many States away, i have learned to substitute these beautifully colored high-rises for Fall foliages. So, here is me ‘building peeping’ not ‘leaf peeping’.

Here are the girls and their new puppy. The girls decide to name the new puppy, Jadoo. Jadoo is the name of a famous alien character from a Hindi movie Koi Mil Gaya starring Hrithik Roshan. Since Friday, Jadoo got so much attention from the girls and their friends that i think it gonna spoil him. Jadoo is so soft, cute and huggable. Best of all, Jadoo is sporting a tuxedo with white bow tie (his fur). Way cool…!

Yes, the pineapple does come in these cool colors of red, white, blue, purple hues. The colors are so awesome that is why i posted it so all can see. In my previous blog the colors were intensified for the sake of photographic art.

I bought this pineapple over 2 years ago at one of the local grocery store somewhere in Houston (maybe at Food Town, HEB, Kroger, Hong Kong Market). The ripe fruit that i bought was yellowish green, like your typical pineapple. Last week to my amazement when i saw the young fruit bursting with colors like Skittle candy, I knew i had to blog it.

Below is the original pix straight out from my Canon 5d on a Canon 24-70 glass. I hope this help. And thank you all for viewing my pineapple blog.

Go to the store and buy a nice juicy pineapple. Pick one with a crown, leafy green spike protruding from the top of the pineapple, that is green and healthy.

Then take your hand and twist off the crown. If you can’t do this then cut the crown off with some flesh attach to it. Then trim away the flesh until you see the base of the crown.

Take the crown and air dry it about a day, dig a hole and plant the crown in a nice sunny place. Make sure you have nice loamy soil; otherwise the crown will rot in poor draining soil. Another way is take the crown and soak it in water until the root starts to form, make sure you keep your water clean while rooting the crown.

Now is the fun part, you have to wait about 2 years to see result. For me, from crown to fruit has been about 2.4 years. As you can see the pineapple is a gorgeous plant.
